When Emmes Optym acquired Clinical Edge in 2022, our brief was to create a visual and verbal identity that would align company cultures with a platform for expression capable of reflecting the unmatched levels of experience, expertise, and innovation the new entity would deliver.
The name: OptymEdge was formed from a fusion of Emmes Optym and Clinical Edge, and paid tribute to both company’s heritages, inherited brand equinity and a shared vision for the future.
At the heart of the new visual identity, a custom interpretation of the Landolt ‘C’, originally developed by Swiss born ophthalmologist, Edmund Landolt was combined with the Snellen chart ‘O’ to give a deeper relevance to a versatile wordmark – allowing it to diverge from cliched industry images of eyes.
Creating a ground-up rebrand including new name, visual identity, marketing collateral and website - OptymEdge launched to delegates at the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Annual Meeting in Chicago and went on to be adopted enthusiastically across regions, with measurable increases in both awareness and loyalty.
